Preserving family history
When my Opa found out I was going to Film School he knew that he could get me to help him edit his very large collection of 8mm films. What started as a simple request to help him use iMovie has turned into a Grandfather and Granddaughter editing and production team. We have edited over 50 Wolfram Family videos together from trips to Istanbul, Turkey or videos skiing in in Adleboden, Switzerland. The footage ranges from 1956 (shot by my Great Grandfather)- to around 2016.
This project has been so rewarding for me and getting to spend time with my Opa to help finish his creative vision will always be something am extremely proud of. Opa named his production team Carliscope Productions and I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to be a member of his production team. Although we might disagree on the music to go in the videos…Opa likes German Polka music while I am more of a Bon Iver fan, I know that these films will be something that can be passed down in my family for generations to come.
